Hi, I am Hyeran. And my artist name is Jain Ros. How are you? 

00:11 – Music Inspirations

When I was young, I saw Britney Spears, Madonna, and BoA on TV. I think they're my mentors or my stars. So I want to be there and I wanna do acting like that because that stage is always changing and different. That is a lot of experience to me. So, I want to be there, and I want to be doing like that. That's what I'm dreaming about... being the singer. That was nine years old. Yeah, nine is good meaning to me. You know my birthday April 9...everything is nine is coming up to me.

01:12 – Brave Girls to Jain Ros Evolution

That is so difficult for me when I started. When I ended the Brave Girls, I was so sad because my condition is bad, and my mentality is not good condition. So I can't handle my condition. I can't work because that environment was so hard to me. So that's why I quit.

And after that, I really did another thing so quick. Like two days later I got another job. Like just a normal thing. Like go in the department store or doing managing. And I learned to do video editing. And I also was working at production too. So that's why I'm making videos of like Google and tall handsome dot com in Korea fashion brand. Like music video too or unofficial work too, like some of me, or in the city, or you know BlackPink, AR3NA, SHINee.

I'm also editing. And when I'm making a video that day from Google Play, someone took me aside; "Hey, we've seen each other before, right?". So, I say "Oh... I don't think so". But in my head, I'm thinking, "Oh my God, how do you... how could they remember me?". Cause I'm so different. You know, before, when I'm a star, I wear more cosmetics (makeup). I'm like, "How could they know me right now?". So, I'm so surprised.

And it's like so difficult too, because you know I want to be there, but I'm in the backside that day. But this feels different, not too bad a thing. Because I'm working that day. So I do all my roles in the front side and back side too. So I think that is good to me, because I understand all the sides, you know. So someday I think about that everyone can have this experience.

And someday my Yoojin, you know, from the Brave Girls former member, came to me; "Hey, I want to do music again, so could you make my music video?". So yeah, why not. Let's do that!. But she got afraid that day, so she quit it suddenly. So....I'm thinking about "Oh oh". So because I'm planning everything, I paid them everything. So I'm fixing for like 1 or 2 years. And after that, "Oh, I don't want to quit like this. I wanted to making it finished".

So I'm making music there in Russia. Composing with friends. So hey, when you... when you think about the bright one, your world is gonna be bright side, you can see it. 

05:25 – 0123?

So I think about my lifetime and so that's why I'm choosing 0123. Like it's a little bit personal (my story). Yeah, it's a little bit philosophical.

05:45 – Album Making

I started that in 2021. Yeah. But I also started in 2020 too, but physically starting in 2021. I think about it for just one year because I'm nervous. People around me failed, I felt. So do I start again? Can I?. Cause my company was very strong before, but my own self... could I do it? Can I?. I can't trust myself. And I didn't think about that before. So I wanted to learn to trust myself like for one year. And I'm a little such a shy girl that day and also at this stage. But I wanted to be breaking up this thing. 

And then I'm producing myself. And I want to do making more pop star style, not a maniac style, you know. But... like 2020 to 2022, I have a maniac style that they love - more character. But I wanted to be sharing with more other people. So that's why, I cut my style a little bit. So that's why I got more time. Because I loved that before the soundtrack, but they don't understand. They can't understand. Okay, your style, but I don't want to be my style. I just wanted to prove it. Hey, you guys can be doing positive things. You can focus your positive energy. So... I wanted to do more sharing of my heart, not myself. More... every feeling. 

08:01 – "Play With Ü" MV

Yeah. So I wanted to be telling the story in the center of art. So that's why I went to New York too. Because you know that every rules changing from Americans. So...that's why I sing to Central Park. Because "center" stands for Central Park. And also they had a lot of foreigner people in there. So I wanted to sing to every country. So that's why I chose it.

08:45 – 0123 KiTalbum

I just wanted to figure it out; How could I do by myself that release out that physical album?. Because someone wanted from me; "Hey, I wanted your photo or photo book or physical album", because I wasn't seeing anything or showing my private unique things. They wanted to see these of me. So... Yeah. So how could I? How could I do it?. And I wanted to figure it out, so I'm searching every day, and I have more choices of brands or products, but that brand (KiT) has a lot of process and portfolio too. So, that's why I choose it. And I love that cutest cube. 

09:39 – "Log In" Music Video

That is from Korea. You know, they have a National Music Project in Korea. So I submitted it (Log In) for that project, and they chose me, so I can film using that location. And the camera team or photography is my team, it's not from the project. That is like a personal project thing so we could make it more easier. And, that is a new process for me. So, that is good experience for me too. But it's not easy too, but I'm so honored and so energizing to me. Because you know before, I'm doing everything; hair and makeup too, installing gear in every location. And the photography, everything - I made it. But the second one (MV) that AB Studio helps me and Korean Music Production helps me. So that's why I show (put) out faster that music video.

11:07 – "Log In" Song Inspiration

Yeah, it's literally like about society. Someone's looking at me; I don't mean that, but they think about me; "Hey, she's thinking about like that, and she's doing like that". But I don't mean that. And I don't... I don't think everything like that. So I think they got a frame (picture) of me. So how? Where's that from?. And what came from that thought? So, I don't understand it. It's real life, you know.

I'm trying a little bit of fixing (perceptions). And you know that society and life at times has a lot of problems like this. So I wanted to... you guys can listen to this song, and you guys can be fixing your hearts. You know, everyone has a lot of these problems. Yeah. And when you're not... it's okay. It's gonna be okay. I want to get to know you —"slowly, slowly". Yeah. Don't judge me. And I don't know you. And you don't know me too. So I want to get to know you—"slowly, slowly". That's what it means.

12:42 – Future Plans

These days I really have to take a rest because I don't know yet how do we... I'm making more "process". It's not for a hobby, you know. I want to do more working so I can figure it out. But this day I'm a little bit hesitant to figure it out how to do it. Because someone gave to me that Festival (performance). So, oh yeah; I can move it, I can do next step. Oh yeah, I can do it and I can show it—the content.

Because before I have imagined my content. You know everyone can be doing like me or dreaming like me, and you can do it, but I can prove it. How do you keep going on and on? I don't want to be making me like other girl group or idol person, because there are a lot of them in Korea, and everyone can't be knowing how to move to the next step. Or you quit your company. So, that's why I'm dreaming. (laughs) So that's what I'm here for, the practicing room. So important that is the first step.

Ah, you know the background music, I also made it. Yeah. And that feeling, I think that is my style. You know the soundtrack also is like dreaming or life. So these days I think about, oh, I have my style.

I always have been dreaming about my style. When I'm doing it in Brave Girls, I always saying to stylists or directors like Brave Brothers; "Hey, can you look it up this (style)? I want it. I'm making some drafts". We are music artists, but they didn't accept it. So, I'm always dreaming in my head. So that's why I and my art is not for just singers. You know, a singer or artist can be an icon. It's like music can or artists can be like Evangelists. Yeah, so different purposes everyone. I love it!.

안녕하세요, 저는 혜란입니다. 제 예명은 제인 로스입니다. 잘 지내시죠?

00:11 – 음악적 영감

어렸을 때 TV에서 브리트니 스피어스, 마돈나, 보아를 봤어요. 제 멘토이자 스타였던 것 같아요. 그래서 저도 그곳에 있고 싶고, 그 무대에서처럼 연기하고 싶어요. 무대는 항상 변하고 다르니까요. 제게는 정말 많은 경험이 됐어요. 그래서 그곳에 있고 싶고, 그렇게 하고 싶어요. 제가 꿈꾸는 건 바로 가수가 되는 거예요. 아홉 살 때였죠. 네, 아홉은 저에게 좋은 의미예요. 제 생일이 4월 9일인 거 아시죠? 아홉 살이 다가오고 있잖아요.

01:12 – 브레이브 걸스에서 제인 로스로의 진화

처음 시작했을 때는 정말 힘들었어요. 브레이브 걸스 활동을 마쳤을 때는 컨디션도 안 좋고, 정신력도 좋지 않아서 너무 슬펐어요. 그래서 제 상태를 감당할 수 없었어요. 그 환경이 너무 힘들었기 때문에 일할 수 없었죠. 그래서 그만두었어요.

그 후, 정말 순식간에 다른 일을 시작했어요. 이틀 후쯤 다른 일을 구했죠. 그냥 평범한 일이었어요. 백화점에 가거나 매니징하는 일 같은 거요. 영상 편집도 배웠고, 제작 일도 했어요. 그래서 구글이나 한국 패션 브랜드의 '키 크고 잘생긴 닷컴' 같은 영상을 만들고 있어요. 뮤직비디오도 만들고, 제 영상처럼 비공식적인 작업도 하고 있고요. 도시에서도 하고, 블랙핑크, 아스트로, 샤이니 같은 아티스트 영상도 만들고 있고요.

편집도 하고 있어요. 그날 구글 플레이에서 영상을 만들고 있는데, 누군가 저를 옆으로 데려가서 "어, 우리 전에 본 적 있지?"라고 물었어요. 그래서 "아... 아닌 것 같은데."라고 했죠. 하지만 속으로는 "세상에, 어떻게... 어떻게 날 기억할 수 있지?"라고 생각했어요. 제가 너무 다르니까요. 아시죠, 예전에 제가 스타였을 때는 화장을 더 많이 했어요. "어떻게 지금 저를 알 수 있을까?"라는 생각이 들었죠. 그래서 정말 놀랐어요.

그리고 정말 힘들기도 했어요. 제가 그 자리에 있고 싶은 건 알지만, 그날은 뒷전이거든요. 하지만 이번에는 느낌이 다르고, 그렇게 나쁘지는 않아요. 그날은 일을 해야 하니까요. 그래서 앞면과 뒷면 모두에서 제 역할을 다 하고 있어요. 그래서 제게는 좋은 것 같아요. 모든 면을 이해하게 되니까요. 그래서 언젠가는 누구나 이런 경험을 할 수 있다는 걸 생각해 봤어요.

그리고 어느 날 브레이브걸스 전 멤버였던 유진이가 저한테 와서 "저 다시 음악 하고 싶은데, 뮤직비디오 찍어줄 수 있어?"라고 물었어요. 그래서, "그래, 왜 안 될까?"라고 물었죠. "같이 하자!"라고요. 그런데 그날 유진이가 겁을 먹고 갑자기 그만두더라고요. 그래서... "아, 이런!" 하는 생각이 들어요. 그래서 모든 걸 계획하고 있었기 때문에 유진이에게 모든 걸 다 줬어요. 그래서 1~2년 정도 고심하고 있어요. 그러다가 "아, 이렇게 포기하고 싶지 않아. 다 끝내고 싶었어."라고 생각했죠.

러시아에서 친구들과 작곡하며 음악을 만들고 있어요. 그러니까, 밝은 면을 생각하면 세상이 밝아질 거예요. 볼 수 있을 거예요.

05:25 – 0123?

제 삶에 대해 생각하면서 0123을 골랐어요. 좀 개인적인 이야기이기도 하고요. 네, 좀 철학적인 이야기이기도 하고요.

05:45 – 앨범 제작

2021년에 시작했어요. 네. 2020년에도 시작했지만, 실제로는 2021년부터 시작했어요. 긴장돼서 딱 1년만 생각했어요. 주변 사람들이 실패했다고 느꼈거든요. 다시 시작해야 할까요? 할 수 있을까요? 제 회사는 예전에는 정말 강했는데, 제 자신은... 제가 할 수 있을까요? 할 수 있을까요? 전 제 자신을 믿을 수가 없어요. 전에는 그런 생각을 해본 적이 없었어요. 그래서 1년 동안 제 자신을 믿는 법을 배우고 싶었어요. 그 당시에도, 지금도 좀 수줍음이 많긴 하지만, 이 일을 끝내고 싶었어요.

그리고 저는 제 자신을 프로듀싱하고 있어요. 그리고 좀 더 팝스타 같은 스타일을 만들고 싶어요. 미친 스타일 말고요. 하지만... 2020년부터 2022년까지는, 사람들이 좋아하는 제 미친 스타일, 좀 더 개성 있는 스타일을 가지고 있어요. 하지만 더 많은 사람들과 공유하고 싶었어요. 그래서 제 스타일을 조금 줄였어요. 그래서 시간이 더 많았죠. 사운드트랙 전에도 제 스타일을 좋아했는데, 사람들은 이해하지 못하더라고요. 이해할 수 없어요. 좋아요, 당신의 스타일은 좋지만, 저는 제 스타일이 되고 싶지 않아요. 그냥 증명하고 싶었어요. 여러분은 긍정적인 일을 할 수 있어요. 긍정적인 에너지를 집중할 수 있어요. 그래서... 제 자신이 아니라 제 마음을 더 많이 나누고 싶었어요. 더... 모든 감정을요.

08:01 – "Play With Ü" 뮤직비디오

네. 예술의 중심에서 이야기를 하고 싶었어요. 그래서 뉴욕에도 갔죠. 미국에서는 모든 규칙이 바뀌는 걸 알잖아요. 그래서... 센트럴 파크에서 노래를 부르는 거예요. "센터"는 센트럴 파크를 뜻하거든요. 그리고 그 안에는 외국인들이 많았어요. 그래서 모든 나라에서 노래를 부르고 싶었어요. 그래서 뉴욕을 선택한 거예요.

08:45 – 0123 키탈럼

저는 그냥 어떻게 하면 제 힘으로 그 앨범을 발매할 수 있을까 고민했어요. 누군가 저에게 "이봐, 네 사진이나 포토북, 아니면 앨범을 원해"라고 하길래, 저는 아무것도 보지도 않고 제 개인적인 개성을 보여주지도 않았거든요. 그들은 제 이런 모습을 보고 싶어 했어요. 그래서... 네. 어떻게 할 수 있을까요? 어떻게 할 수 있을까요? 저도 고민이 많았어요. 그래서 매일 검색을 하고, 브랜드나 제품도 더 다양해졌지만, 그 브랜드(키트)는 많은 프로세스와 포트폴리오를 가지고 있거든요. 그래서 선택했어요. 그리고 그 귀여운 큐브가 너무 마음에 들어요.

09:39 – "로그인" 뮤직비디오

한국에서 찍은 거예요. 한국에서 국민 음악 프로젝트가 있잖아요. 그래서 그 프로젝트에 (로그인)을 제출했고, 그들이 저를 선택해서 그 장소에서 촬영할 수 있게 됐어요. 카메라 팀이나 사진 팀은 제 팀이에요. 프로젝트와는 상관없는 팀이에요. 그건 마치 개인 프로젝트 같은 건데, 더 쉽게 만들 수 있을 것 같아요. 저한테는 새로운 과정이거든요. 그래서 좋은 경험이기도 하고요. 쉽지는 않지만, 정말 영광스럽고 활력이 넘칩니다. 아시다시피 전에는 제가 모든 걸 다 했어요. 헤어, 메이크업, 모든 장소에 장비 설치까지. 사진 촬영까지 모든 걸 제가 직접 했죠. 그런데 두 번째 뮤직비디오(MV)는 AB 스튜디오와 한국 음악 제작진이 도와줬어요. 그래서 그 뮤직비디오를 더 빨리 공개할 수 있었던 거죠.

11:07 – "Log In" 곡 영감

네, 말 그대로 사회에 대한 이야기예요. 누군가 저를 보고 있다는 게 아니라, 저를 떠올리는 거죠. "저 여자도 저런 생각을 하고 저런 행동을 하고 있구나"라고요. 하지만 그런 뜻이 아니에요. 그리고… 모든 걸 그렇게 생각하지도 않아요. 그래서 제 사진이 액자에 들어간 것 같아요. 어떻게 찍은 건가요? 어디서 나온 건가요? 그 생각에서 무슨 생각이 나왔을까요? 그래서, 이해가 안 돼요. 현실이잖아요.

(인식의) 틀을 조금 고치려고 노력하고 있어요. 사회와 삶에는 이런 문제가 많을 때가 있잖아요. 그래서 저는... 여러분도 이 노래를 들으시고, 마음을 고쳐나가셨으면 좋겠어요. 아시다시피, 누구나 이런 문제는 많이 가지고 있죠. 네. 그리고 그렇지 않더라도... 괜찮아요. 괜찮을 거예요. 여러분을 알아가고 싶어요. "천천히, 천천히". 네. 저를 판단하지 마세요. 저는 여러분을 모르고, 여러분도 저를 모르잖아요. 그래서 여러분을 알아가고 싶어요. "천천히, 천천히". 그게 그 의미예요.

12:42 – 앞으로의 계획

요즘은 정말 좀 쉬어야 할 것 같아요. 아직 어떻게 해야 할지 모르겠거든요... "프로세스"를 더 만들고 있어요. 취미로 하는 건 아니잖아요. 더 열심히 해서 어떻게 해야 할지 알아내고 싶어요. 하지만 오늘은 어떻게 해야 할지 조금 망설여져요. 누군가 페스티벌(공연)을 줬거든요. 그래서, 아, 맞아요. 앞으로 나아갈 수 있고, 다음 단계로 나아갈 수 있어요. 아, 맞아요. 해낼 수 있고, 보여줄 수 있어요. 콘텐츠를요.

제가 콘텐츠를 상상하기도 전에요. 다들 저처럼 하고 싶고, 저처럼 꿈꿀 수 있고, 당신도 할 수 있지만, 저는 증명할 수 있어요. 어떻게 계속할 수 있죠? 다른 걸그룹이나 아이돌처럼 만들고 싶지 않아요. 한국에는 그런 사람들이 너무 많은데, 다들 어떻게 다음 단계로 나아가야 할지 모르잖아요. 아니면 회사를 그만둬야 할지도 모르잖아요. 그래서 꿈을 꾸는 거예요. (웃음) 그래서 제가 여기 있는 거예요. 연습실이요. 첫 단계가 정말 중요하거든요.

아, 배경음악 아시죠? 제가 만들었어요. 네. 그리고 그 느낌, 그게 제 스타일이라고 생각해요. 사운드트랙도 꿈이나 삶과 같은 거잖아요. 그래서 요즘은 '아, 내 스타일이 있구나'라고 생각해요.

14:37 – 스타일링 & 패션

저는 항상 제 스타일을 꿈꿔왔어요. 브레이브 걸스에서 스타일을 할 때, 용감한 형제 같은 스타일리스트나 감독들에게 항상 "이 스타일 좀 찾아봐 줄 수 있어? 내가 원해. 초안 좀 짜고 있어."라고 말하곤 했어요. 저희는 음악가인데, 그들이 받아주지 않았어요. 그래서 저는 항상 머릿속으로 꿈을 꾸고 있어요. 그래서 저와 제 예술은 가수만을 위한 게 아니에요. 가수든 아티스트든 아이콘이 될 수 있잖아요. 음악이나 아티스트가 전도사처럼 될 수 있는 것처럼요. 네, 사람마다 추구하는 바가 다르죠. 정말 좋아요!
